She Never Died
A bold, blood-soaked reimagining of the 2015 cult hit He Never Died, Audrey Cummings’ She Never Died reinvents the mythic loner archetype through a feminist lens. The film follows Lacey (Olunike Adeliyi), a mysterious, seemingly immortal woman who roams the city’s underbelly preying on predators and criminals, punishing those who exploit others while struggling to contain her own violent impulses.
When a weary detective discovers her existence, an unlikely alliance forms between them—one that pits Lacey against a trafficking ring steeped in human depravity. What unfolds is both brutal and darkly poetic: a supernatural thriller that blends noir, horror, and allegory into a story about vengeance, redemption, and the cost of eternal life.
Premiering at the 2019 Cinequest Film Festival, She Never Died earned praise for its subversive energy, stylish direction, and Olunike Adeliyi’s commanding performance. Cummings’ confident visual storytelling brings grit and grace to the genre, transforming pulp violence into a meditation on justice and survival.
She Never Died is a visceral, unapologetic work of feminist horror—a film that reclaims power from the shadows and redefines what it means to fight monsters by becoming one.
